Head Start and Early Head Start programs support the comprehensive development of children from birth to age 5 in a variety of ways, aiming to life families out of generational poverty and into self-sufficiency.

Education

Teachers create learning experiences to promote children’s school readiness. Through age-appropriate instruction, relationships, and play, children develop language and literacy skills, social and emotional health, and early academic concepts.

Health

Children receive scheduled health and developmental screenings, nutritious meals, and mental health services. Programs connect families to further services when needed.
